Access Internet Radio

This website is a meeting point for Access/Community Broadcasters in New Zealand to share ideas and information about Internet broadcasting strategies.

You will find quite a number of 'working/draft' documents looking at the various issues that surround broadcasting over the Internet.

Primarily this website has been set up as part of the Access Internet Radio project - a New Zealand Government funded initiative (via the Digital Strategy Community Partnerships Fund) to enable Access Radio Wellington, Community Radio Hamilton and Fresh FM in Nelson to begin delivering their community content via the Internet.

There are huge benefits in sharing information and ideas within the Community Broadcasting sector about an area that is still very new to us all. Please feel free to submit information or comment on material you find on this site - your input is warmly encouraged!

The Future

As the AIR project progresses this website will evolve into a centralised database where stations (who want to be part of this structure) can upload text information about their audio content.

This will result in stations being able to supply aggregated search results (with audio links) to the end user via their own website - for example "display all of the Italian community Access programmes currently available in New Zealand".
