Episode Information
Reza and Slivia Abdul-Jabbar are the hosts of our Muslim show The Abdul-Jabbars. Reza is the Imam at the Invercargill Mosque, with Silvia by his side, and they also head the Murihiku Islamic Trust. Smashing many of our pre-conceptions about Islam, they are both highly educated Southland dairy farmers, raising their family in Mokotua. With a Country Calendar episode and being the face of Fonterra's Water Is Life campaign, they are not strangers to microphones and cameras - but after the events of March 15, they joined us here at Radio Southland to give us all an insight into how Islam actually works and what their beliefs are. The show is also a way of uniting the Muslim community around Southland, and beyond. The Abdul-Jabbars is a fortnightly 1 hour show, Saturdays at 12pm - also available on podcast from www.radiosouthland.org.nz!

Episode Information
Ryan Isaacs is the host of 'The Ryno Show' here at Radio Southland. Starting when he was 17, Ryan began his show after a few years of helping us out at Kidzone Radio - a great starting point for youth programme makers. Ryan's now 21, and the proud owner of 2 motorbikes, a vintage van, and a house! His unique perspective on music for his age bracket sets his show apart - a millennial who loves piano-driven classic rock from the 70's & 80's. Ryan's carved out a career in the Southland hospo scene, and his work here at Radio Southland was a springboard to announcing for other community-based stations around NZ. Find out more about Ryan on this episode - and if you love retro rock and the thoughts of an old soul in a young body - catch The Ryno Show on Mondays at 4pm, the replay on Wednesdays at 9pm. You can also binge listen to The Ryno Show at your own convenience on podcast from our website!
